Paiting style

I mostly draw with a pen nib, pencil, and ink wash — I love the precision of the line, its tiny imperfections, and the shimmer of shadow. These are what create an atmosphere of mystery and depth. In painting, using oil and acrylic techniques, I reach for motifs of ancient gods, angels, and demons — beings that exist on the border between myth, dream, and the subconscious.

Surrealism Is My Language

Surrealism is my natural language — not as a style, but as a way of seeing reality. The world I paint and draw exists alongside the real one: trees breathe in it, shadows have awareness, and the human becomes part of a forest ritual. I try to capture what is invisible yet present — in space, in nature, and in the human being.

Bio

Born in 1974 in Piła, Poland. A graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Bydgoszcz and the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he received his painting degree in 1999.

In 1996, he was awarded a scholarship from the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Foundation, and two years later he received a prize at the National Drawing Biennale of Higher Art Schools in Katowice. In 2001, he was honored with the President of Toruń Award in the Work of the Year competition.

He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including in Warsaw, Toruń, Elbląg, Bydgoszcz, Göttingen, and New Jersey (USA).

In his work, he combines classical painting techniques with the symbolism and spirituality of past eras. Drawing on Slavic mythology, Gothic and Baroque influences, he creates paintings filled with metaphysical tension and emotion.

His art is an attempt to build a dialogue between light and darkness, the sacred and the profane — a search for the boundary between the visible and what remains hidden.

I am a painter and draughtsman with many years of experience. I graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, earning my diploma in 1999. I specialize in painting, drawing, and printmaking, combining classical techniques with a modern approach to art.

My work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and has also been recognized in prestigious competitions such as the National Drawing Biennale in Katowice and the “Work of the Year” competition in Toruń. I have also received a scholarship from the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Foundation.
